Pivot Doors
Timber Pivot doors are often the preferred choice for contemporary homes due to their clean and sophisticated opening mechanism.
Overview
With Pivot doors the hinge is partway along the door at the top and bottom. In this way, the design is actually more robust for oversize doors as it can better handle the extra weight while providing a smooth and secure opening.
At Eden Made we use strong, commercial grade pivot mechanisms for durability and reliability as well as soft-close functions for greater ambience and safety.
When fully open at 90 degrees, pivot doors provide a luxurious wide entry and make an impressive statement. When locked in this position they also enable airflow along both sides of the door, making them a positive choice in areas of high humidity.
As they are less common than hinged doors, timber pivot doors add a surprise element to entrances. Because the normal “hinged end” has a slight exterior protusion when fully open they are generally not used with screens. To enhance ventilation some owners opt for louvre or other window options on one or both sides.
